4HG - FOR HIS GLORY

Holy Name of Jesus is proud to be an active participating school in the 4HG program.  4HG was started by former Viking, Matt Birk. We are proud to have hosted a 4HG basketball clinic and to have Matt Birk as a guest at our school.  4HG is a movement to create a healthy sports culture in our Catholic schools. We believe athletics, when done right, serve as an invaluable tool for developing well-rounded children.

Beginning Band: for all beginners in any grade 4-6.

Advanced Band: students in grades five and six that have reached a higher level of achievement.

Both bands perform at the Christmas and Spring concerts. They also look forward to a yearly field trip to Benilde-St. Margaret’s School for a Band Clinic.

Band Lessons: Students will receive weekly small group lessons during the school day. Students receive grades for band and are encouraged to meet a certain proficiency before attending rehearsals in either of the bands.

Catholic Math League is a national math competition that began as a division of Educontest in 1997. Catholic Math League is a mathematical tool that is used by hundreds of Catholic schools throughout the nation to aid in the development of mathematical skills in the lives of their students.

Lenise, our Math Specialist, heads our Catholic Math League for grades three through six.

About 70 of our students in grades three through six participate in our Catholic Math League. Each year, Holy Name has students who place high both in the school’s division and nationally.  Catholic Math League is an individual and team competition, in which the school has competed since 2013.
